COMPETITIONS

We have TWO competitions for you this year with MAGICAL prizes just waiting to be won by YOU!

Prelims take place on Saturday after the workshops. Finals will take place during the first or second band break of the Saturday main dance depending on your competition level.

Note #1: You may only sign up for ONE competition. Please place yourself accurately according to the below descriptions.

Note#2: A full pass or dance pass is not required to participate in any competition. You may register for the competition regardless of your weekend registration status!

NEWCOMER MIX & MATCH

Sign up for this competition if you:

Have been dancing lindy hop two years or less
Are a beginner level or intermediate level lindy hop dancer
Have never placed (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place) in any Newbie/Beginner/Intermediate/Newcomer/Novice competition
If you are new to competing, but you teach swing dance, please enter the open competition.
This competition is GREAT for getting your feet wet in the world of competition! Beginner friendly, this competition offers you a chance to compete for a pass to another event in the U.S. to further your dance growth! If you are new to competing, this is the competition for you!

*All requirements (except for dancing tenure) must be met to compete in this level

OPEN MIX & MATCH

Sign up for this competition if you:

Have been dancing lindy hop for 2+ years
Are ready to THROW DOWN and share your mastery of connection, musicality, and improvisation under the spotlight!

FORMAT

Dancers will be judged individually for prelims and as partnerships for finals. This is a primarily Lindy Hop competition but dancers will not be penalized for dancers other swing styles.
Prelims will be danced to DJed music and judged individually. Finals will be danced to a live band in spotlight jam style format and judged as partnerships.
